Barclays Wyndham Rewards Earner Premier
Card guide overview
The top of the Wyndham family. $395 buys 8X at Wyndham, Diamond status every year, 30,000 anniversary points, a free night certificate up to 30,000 points, 25% off award nights, over $400 in annual benefits (statement credits plus a complimentary Wyndham Insider membership). The credits alone can offset most of the fee — but only if you will actually use them.

At a glance
The top Wyndham card can offset most of its $395 fee, but only if you use both the credits and Insider membership.
The Barclays Wyndham Rewards Earner Premier earns 8X at Hotels by Wyndham, 4X on gas (including EV charging), travel, dining, and grocery, and 1X everywhere else, for a $395 annual fee. It includes Wyndham Diamond status every year (Wyndham's top tier), 30,000 anniversary points, a free night certificate worth up to 30,000 points after 5 paid nights per year, 25% fewer points for free-night awards, and $385 in annually recurring credits for hotel, wholesale club, meal delivery, and streaming. The separate complimentary Insider subscription is not a credit: the issuer provides enrollment instructions within 2–4 weeks, and the program advertises at least 10% off direct hotel bookings, accelerated qualifying-stay earning, Gold status, travel and entertainment discounts, and 24/7 concierge access while the card remains open and in good standing. The welcome offer is up to 120,000 bonus points (90,000 after $6,000 plus the annual fee in 120 days, plus 30,000 after $750 at Wyndham in 180 days).
The Earner Premier is a coupon-book card: its value depends almost entirely on whether you will actually use the annually recurring statement credits. Use them all and the $395 fee is effectively rebated, leaving 8X Wyndham earning, Diamond status, 30,000 anniversary points, and a 30,000-point free night as pure upside. Skip them and you have overpaid for a Wyndham card — the $95 Earner Plus delivers Diamond year one, a free night, and strong earning for $300 less. The Premier is the right card only for committed Wyndham loyalists who will deliberately activate and use every credit.
Best fit
Heavy Wyndham guests who will use the annually recurring statement credits and Insider membership
If you stay at Wyndham brands frequently, want Diamond status every year, and will actively use the hotel, wholesale, meal-delivery, streaming, and TSA/GE credits, the Premier's fee is effectively rebated. The 8X Wyndham rate and 30,000-point free night are then pure upside.
Current timing
The June 2026 revamp makes 120,000 points the relevant current benchmark
The June 2026 revamp changed the Premier's annual fee, welcome-offer structure, earning rates, status, and benefits for new applicants. The current 120,000-point offer requires $6,000 plus the annual fee within 120 days for the 90,000-point tranche, plus $750 at Wyndham within 180 days for the remaining 30,000. The older 105K level remains only as historical context and may not be a useful guide to future offers on the refreshed product.
Main watchout
The $395 fee only makes sense if you will actually use the credits and Insider membership
The Earner Premier is a coupon-book card. If you will not use the hotel, wholesale, meal-delivery, streaming, and TSA/GE credits, you are paying $395 for benefits the $95 Earner Plus delivers almost as well (Diamond year one, free night cert, 6X Wyndham). Audit your spending habits before applying. As a general rule, never carry a balance on any rewards card.
Current & historical offer
The June 2026 revamp makes the current 120,000-point offer the relevant benchmark.
The June 2026 Wyndham revamp changed the Premier's annual fee, welcome-offer structure, earning rates, status, and benefits for new applicants. The current 120,000-point offer is also the highest tracked offer, so it is labeled Maximum Tracked Offer. The older 105K level is retained for context only and may not be directly relevant to today's refreshed product. Referral, targeted, and mixed cash-plus-points offers are outside this ladder.
Timing assessment
120K is at the tracked ceiling. Apply now if the Premier fits your spending — there is no higher offer to wait for.
The current 120,000-point offer matches the highest tracked offer on the Premier. There is no reason to wait for a better bonus. The decision rests entirely on whether the $395 fee and $6,000 spend hurdle fit your wallet — not on offer timing.
Why someone may still apply
For heavy Wyndham guests, the credits plus Diamond status plus 8X earning justify the fee.
Use the annually recurring credits and the $395 fee is largely rebated. Diamond status every year, 30,000 anniversary points, a 30,000-point free night, and 8X Wyndham earning then deliver genuine ongoing value beyond the break-even.
Card benefits
The credits and Insider membership are the card. Use them or the $395 fee is wasted.
The tiers are a Points Brief editorial assessment of decision importance and rarity among comparable premium hotel co-brand cards — not labels supplied by Barclays.
Tier 1 · The credits that justify the $395 fee
Benefits that determine whether this card is worth holding at all.
Over $385/year in statement credits plus a complimentary Insider membership
The Premier bundles $385 in annually recurring statement credits — $100 toward Wyndham hotel stays, $65 toward wholesale club memberships, up to $120 toward meal-delivery services, and up to $100 toward streaming services — plus up to $120 for TSA PreCheck/Global Entry every four years and a complimentary Wyndham Rewards Insider membership (issuer-stated value $95). Used in full, the annually recurring credits approach the $395 fee.
- $100 annual credit toward qualifying Wyndham hotel stays.
- $65 annual credit toward wholesale club memberships (e.g., Costco, Sam's Club, BJ's).
- $120 annual credit toward eligible meal-delivery services.
- $100 annual credit toward eligible streaming subscriptions.
- $120 credit toward TSA PreCheck, Global Entry, or similar travel-application fees (every ~4–5 years as eligible).
- Complimentary Wyndham Rewards Insider membership — issuer-stated value of $95/year — includes an extra 10% bonus on points earned (stacks with the card's 25% award discount).
Know the limits: Statement credits require enrollment and qualifying purchases at eligible merchants as defined by Barclays; specific merchants and categories may change. The $120 TSA/GE credit is typically claimed once every 4–5 years per program renewal, not annually. If you will not use at least three of the annually recurring credit buckets, the Premier is likely the wrong card.
Tier 2 · Diamond status and the 30,000-point free night
Benefits that add meaningful keeper value once the fee is offset.
Diamond Wyndham Diamond status every year
The Premier grants Wyndham Diamond elite status every year — Wyndham’s top tier, including suite upgrades (subject to availability), welcome amenities, and top bonus earning on paid stays. Unlike the Plus (Diamond year one only), the Premier holds Diamond indefinitely.
Diamond is Wyndham’s highest published status tier. This is the only Wyndham card that grants Diamond every year — a meaningful differentiator over the $95 Plus, which drops to Platinum after year one.
Free night Free night certificate up to 30,000 points after 5 paid nights/year
Each year, after completing 5 qualifying paid nights at Wyndham, cardholders receive a free night award redeemable for a stay of up to 30,000 points — double the Plus’s 15,000-point cap. This unlocks redemption at higher-tier Wyndham Grand properties.
The 30,000-point cap reaches upper-midscale and many Wyndham Grand properties off-peak. At an estimated 0.7–1.0 cents per point, the certificate is worth roughly $210–$300.
30,000 30,000 anniversary points each year
Each cardholder anniversary, cardholders earn 30,000 bonus Wyndham Rewards Points — worth roughly $210–$300. Double the Plus’s 15,000-point anniversary bonus.
30,000 Wyndham Rewards Points are estimated at $210–$300 based on a 0.7–1.0 cent per-point value.
8X 8X at Hotels by Wyndham
The Premier earns 8X on eligible purchases at Hotels by Wyndham worldwide — the highest Wyndham earning rate in the family. Member and Diamond status earning layers on top.
8X at an estimated 0.7–1.0 cents per point yields roughly 5.6%–8.0% effective return at Wyndham properties — the strongest hotel earning rate in the family.
Tier 3 · Award discount, everyday earning, and card baseline
Benefits that round out the value proposition.
25% fewer points required for free nights Awards
Cardholders need 25% fewer Wyndham Rewards Points for free-night awards — up from the 10% discount on the Earner and Plus. An uncapped discount on all award redemptions, stackable with member pricing.
4X on gas (incl. EV charging), travel, dining, and grocery Earning
4X on gas stations (including EV charging), travel, dining, and grocery stores — the same everyday earning rate as the $95 Plus, but combined with Diamond status and the larger free night cap.
No foreign transaction fees Card baseline
No issuer FTF on international purchases. Standard for premium travel cards.
Visa Signature benefits Network
Visa Signature network provides premium travel and purchase protections, including travel insurance, concierge access, and enhanced purchase security.
Comparison method: Premium hotel co-brand cards including Chase World of Hyatt, Chase Marriott Bonvoy Brilliant, and Amex Hilton Aspire; public positioning reviewed in July 2026. Tiering is editorial.
Earning rates
8X at Wyndham is the family high; everyday 4X matches the Plus.
Rates shown are card-only earning. Wyndham Rewards member earning and Diamond status bonuses layer on top of the card rate at Wyndham properties.
Gas stations (incl. EV charging), travel, dining, and grocery stores
Broad everyday categories — the same 4X rate as the $95 Earner Plus. The $0 Earner earns 3X on gas (incl. EV charging)/dining/grocery (no travel).
All other purchases
Standard base rate. At an estimated 0.7–1.0 cents per Wyndham point, 1X is worth roughly 0.7%–1.0% effective return — not a reason to hold a $395 card.
Value context: Wyndham Rewards Points are estimated at 0.7–1.0 cents each. The 8X Wyndham rate and 4X everyday categories deliver strong earning, but the Premier is justified by its statement credits and Diamond status — not by its everyday earning. If you would not otherwise pay $395 for the credits, the $95 Earner Plus earns the same 4X everyday rate.

When the Earner Premier makes sense
Use cases for this card.
- You stay at Wyndham brands frequently and want Diamond status every year
- You will actively use the annually recurring statement credits (hotel, wholesale, meal delivery, streaming) and Insider membership
- You want the 30,000-point free night certificate (reaches Wyndham Grand off-peak)
