Credit interaction: AAdvantage miles are estimated at 1.4–1.6 cents each for domestic redemptions. The 3X AA rate earns roughly 4.2–4.8% back in AA flight value on eligible AA purchases. Miles are locked to AAdvantage and cannot be transferred to other programs.
